Go Global at SNU by Living and Studying in Another Country

Imagine yourself getting on a crowded bus to visit the Schonbrunn Palace gardens after classes with professors from the University of Vienna as a part of the Institute for Global Education program. Imagine visiting Cuba as part of the Latin America Studies Program. Imagine exploring the Amazon basin while studying at the Nazarene International Language Institute in Ecuador, or a tropical rain forest while studying at the Quetzal Education and Research Center in Costa Rica. Imagine yourself living and studying for a semester in another country.

SNU seeks to assist its students in understanding and appreciating what it means to live as Christians in a multiethnic, pluralistic world. SNU encourages students to increase their global outlook through participation in study abroad. The possibility for Christian scholars to gain new insights by living and studying in other cultures is great and the potential for enhanced student learning is significant. For those reasons, SNU actively promotes a variety of study abroad opportunities.

The three recommended paths to study abroad are participation in a Council of Christian Colleges and Universities (CCCU) program, attending the Institute for Global Education (IGE) Vienna program or attending a semester or summer program at the Nazarene International Language Institute (NILI) in Quito, Ecuador. Another option for science students is to participate in a semester at SNU's Quetzal Education and Research Center (QERC) in Costa Rica.
